Club Championship results 2016

Many congratulations to all our Club Championship finalists who gave spectators some very exciting tennis to watch in the glorious sunshine yesterday:
Mark Shaer beat Jacob McDowell in a very closely fought men's singles;
Nicola Douglas beat Tracy Warren in a long ladies singles battle where nearly all the games went to deuce;
Josh McDowell beat Andy Tidiman and Kat Hales beat Natalie Bott in the singles plates;
Josh & Jacob McDowell beat Andy Tidiman and Tony Isaac in the men's doubles;
Erika Taunton and Jenny Burrett beat Sabina Bird and Nicola Douglas in a very closely contested 3 setter;
And Jacob McDowell and Sheelagh Chapman beat Mark Shaer and Jenny Burrett in an epic 3 set match to round off the day.
Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the 5 star all-day buffet and supported the players. It all ended with 7 rousing renditions of "For he/she/they are jolly good fellows" during prize giving, which was hosted by our club President, Joe Barnet.
