A few dates for your diaries:
Sunday 13th September – Club Finals Day
From 1pm, the singles and doubles finals will be played on courts 1 & 2 at the club. The standard of tennis is always good on this afternoon and members and their families are warmly invited to join us. Light refreshments will be available from approx. 5pm. Bring a bottle too! Please could you let Erika Taunton know if you will be coming so we can organise catering accordingly.Erika.taunton@talk21.com
Junior camps are being held on Monday 27th July, Monday August 10th and Monday August 24th from 10 – 3. Bookings to be made with Jude – judewalthewtennis@outlook.com
Friday 3rd October – Whist Drive, 7 – 7.30pm This is an annual social event which is always great fun, whether you are a regular card player or not. We do not take it too seriously and there is always plenty of banter and revelry. Price is £15 per head which includes a full buffet dinner. A licensed bar is available to help raise a few pounds for the club. Dress code is smart casual.Venue: c/o Steve and Liz Davies, Tessmorlands, Frenches Green, Felsted. Sunday 11th October – Working Party at the club from 10am Hedges need to be cut and the clubhouse and shed need painting, as well as a few odd jobs around the club. All help on the day would be welcome. Many hands make light work.
The idea of a mens and ladies singles ladder has been mooted and we are trying to establish how much interest there is for this. If you would be interested in participating, please email Erika – Erika.taunton@talk21.com
Court bookings - there may be an occasion when a league match needs to be rearranged and the new date clashes with a private booking or a coaching session.
Please note the following:
League matches always take precedence over any other event.
Online, pre-booked courts always take precedence over ad hoc,spontaneous sessions.
If you are arranging club championship matches, we do advise booking online to ensure court availability.
We will be installing a chain and padlock on the main gate to the car park. It is imperative that this gate is locked if you are the last to leave the club. The padlock code will be the same as the code for the courts.
